Walmart      Sam's Club

"We’re all working together. That’s the secret." – Sam Walton

Walmart Stores, Inc. and the Walmart foundation are heroes to Give Kids The World through the regional support of Walmart, Neighborhood Markets, and Sam’s Club stores, who have shared the mission of Give Kids The World within the Walmart community since 2002. Since then, they have been our largest cash contributor. Funds raised through their support have allowed us to purchase land and embark on an expansion project that will see us double the size of the Village in the next few years. We are working together to make dreams come true for some very special children and their families.

"Each Walmart store should reflect the values of its customers and support the vision they hold for their community." – Sam Walton

Creative individual fundraising and grants, made possible through the support of Walmart Stores, Inc. and the Walmart foundation, provide essential funding to maintain the daily operations of GKTW Village. Walmart and Sam’s Club employees are also active with GKTW through volunteerism at the local and national level, traveling all the way to Central Florida to volunteer their time serving meals, scooping ice cream, painting, and landscaping.

GKTW has received special gifts from Walmart over the years, including a semi-trailer – specially designed for GKTW Village!

When one Walmart associate toured our Give Kids The World property and asked us "What do you need," we responded with a Wish List. At the top of that list was our need for a semi-trailer for storage. The next thing we knew a whimsical semi-trailer was hauled onto our property to be prominently displayed next to our warehouse. The trailer was even designed with the help of children whose parents work for Walmart. This tremendous gift serves us well everyday and is a beautiful and touching reminder that Walmart truly gives from the heart.

When three hurricanes hit Central Florida, including Hurricane Charlie which forced us to close the Village for ten days, Walmart associates were the first on the scene bringing generators, water, food, and other supplies, and much needed manpower. Without this outpouring of support the Village would never have been able to re-open as soon.

"Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well-chosen, well-timed, sincere words of praise. They’re absolutely free – and worth a fortune." – Sam Walton

Give Kids The World extends a world of gratitude to Walmart Stores, Inc., the Walmart Foundation, and the extended family of associates and community friends who help us to make dreams come true. Thank you.
