$60,905 in Donations Received From 2013 #GivingTuesday Challenge

The final totals are in for the 2013 #GivingTuesday Challenge and we received $60,905 during the 24-hour period!

Among the contributors were matching donors as well as hundreds of supporters who made year two of the Give Kids The World #GivingTuesday effort so successful. The annual event helps thousands of charities by encouraging people to focus on the needs of others on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Mango’s Tropical Café’s Wallack Family Selects GKTW as Orlando Charity For Innovative Philanthropic Program

Having built an impeccable reputation in Miami Beach as entrepreneurs, business owners and philanthropists, the Wallack family is making an in impact in Central Florida by opening Mango’s Tropical Café on International Drive and by partnering with Give Kids The World in Kissimmee to bring happiness and hope to children battling life-threatening illnesses.

Davidson Hotels & Resorts demonstrated once again why they are among the most socially-conscious and charitable organizations in the country as their hotel staff members worked together to raise $108,589 for Give Kids The World (GKTW).

Holiday Inn’s Founding Family and Orange Lake Resorts Pledge $500,000

The children of Holiday Inn founder, Kemmons Wilson, along with their company, Orlando-based Orange Lake Resorts, have pledged $500,000 to Give Kids The World’s five-year, $120 million Capital Expansion and Improvement Campaign. Their gift will go toward the construction of a new Town Hall, which will expand Give Kids The World’s (GKTW) hospitality services.

Ice Cream For Breakfast Serves up Scoops of Hope for Children with Life-Threatening Illnesses

On July 21, GKTW will launch its Ice Cream For Breakfast awareness and fundraising campaign in celebration of National Ice Cream Day. The Ice Cream For Breakfast campaign encourages individuals, families and corporations to support GKTW by signing up for a virtual fundraising campaign or hosting an ice cream social.

Reality Television Stars Coming to Give Kids The World

For the fifth consecutive year, reality television stars will help make the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses come true by appearing at Hearts of Reality, a three-day event to be held August 2-4 in Celebration, Fla.  More than 140 of the hottest stars from the hit television shows “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race,” “The Apprentice,” “Big Brother” and more, will reunite with their cast mates and use their celebrity to help raise donations for Central Florida’s Give Kids The World Village.

“Coasting For Kids” Raises More Than $150,000 for Children With Life-Threatening Illnesses

Daring roller coaster enthusiasts demonstrated once again that they have big hearts and enviable equilibrium as they participated in Cedar Fair’s 5th Annual Coasting For Kids event, which raised more than $150,000 for Give Kids The World (GKTW).  The adrenaline-pumping event offered coasting fanatics complimentary admission to one of 11 Cedar Fair Entertainment Company parks across North America for the privilege of riding roller coasters a dizzying number of times.

Sierra Land Group Funds Villas for Give Kids The World

Two new villas will house children with life-threatening illnesses and their families for years to come at Give Kids The World (GKTW) thanks to the generosity of the Don and Lorraine Freeberg Foundation, named for the late owner of Sierra Land Group, Inc.

25th Annual Give Kids The World Black & White Gala Raises More than $665,000

More than 1,600 community leaders, valued partners, celebrities and supporters of Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) joined together at The Peabody Orlando on June 1 to help raise funds to provide magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses at the 25th Annual Give Kids The World Black & White Gala.

“Float for Hope” Fundraiser on the Missouri River Benefits Give Kids The World

“Float for Hope”, a 120-mile fundraising trip down the Missouri River, is being planned by employees of Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel to benefit Give Kids The World (GKTW).  GKTW Village is a 70-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides week-long, cost-free vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Give Kids The World Partners With Wyndham Vacation Ownership To Launch “Extreme Village Makeover”

Give Kids The World has teamed up with Wyndham Vacation Ownership (WVO), the world’s largest vacation ownership company, to launch an “Extreme Village Makeover” at Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee, FL. The Extreme Village Makeover, scheduled to take place January 12-25, 2014, will makeover 100 of the 140 villas at Give Kids The World Village, updating the whimsical accommodations for families visiting for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation to upgraded hospitality standards.

Roller coaster enthusiasts can ride for a cause again this year at the Fifth Annual Coasting For Kids event, which will be held on Sunday, June 9, at 11 Cedar Fair amusement parks across North America.

Give Kids The World Makes Dreams Come True for 32 Israeli Children

Give Kids The World Village welcomed 32 Israeli children in January for a weeklong, cost-free fantasy vacation. Traveling from Israel, as well as Russia and Sweden, through a wish-granting organization called Simcha Layeladim-MyWish4U.org, the children and their family members experienced a week filled with smiles and unforgettable fun.

HTC and T-Mobile Make Dreams Come True for Children with Life-Threatening Illnesses

Ten children with life-threatening illnesses and their families will be able to experience a weeklong, cost-free magical vacation at Give Kids The World Village (GKTW), a nonprofit "storybook" resort, thanks to a $50,000 donation from HTC, a global leader in mobile innovation and design.
