KISSIMMEE, Fla. (July 12, 2013) – Ice cream for breakfast? Absolutely! It is a daily tradition at Give Kids The World Village (GKTW), a 70-acre, nonprofit “storybook” resort in Central Florida where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free fantasy vacations. On July 21, GKTW will launch its Ice Cream For Breakfast awareness and fundraising campaign in celebration of National Ice Cream Day. The Ice Cream For Breakfast campaign encourages individuals, families and corporations to support GKTW by signing up for a virtual fundraising campaign or hosting an ice cream social. “For nearly 25 years, Give Kids The World has served up smiles and memories in our whimsical Ice Cream Palace with all-you-can-eat ice cream all day, every day. Wish children and their families enjoy unlimited cones, sundaes and shakes, with a buffet of topping options whenever they want – even for breakfast!” said Give Kids The World President Pamela Landwirth. “For the fourth year in a row, this campaign brings that joy to others and ensures that we can continue to create the happiness that inspires hope for our precious guests.” The campaign was inspired by a GKTW wish family who celebrates the anniversary of their trip by eating ice cream for breakfast, just as they did in the Ice Cream Palace at the Village. The Ice Cream For Breakfast campaign begins on National Ice Cream Day, July 21, and will continue through September 2.
