Full Tummy. Full Heart. Just when it seemed like pancakes couldn't get any better. Show your support for Give Kids The World by celebrating GKTW Pancake Day at your local Perkins Restaurant and Bakery on Saturday, September 15. Participating Perkins Restaurants across the country will be serving up free short stacks of their famous buttermilk pancakes. In return, Perkins will ask their guests to consider making a donation to GKTW. Read More

Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio, hosted a last-ride celebration for its Disaster Transport roller coaster on July 29. The park partnered with Give Kids The World for the Disaster Transport Final Dispatch: A Mission for the Kids event, which raised more than $16,000! Read More

Village Opens Model Villa
Last month, GKTW unveiled villa 188 which had been newly renovated as the new model villa for the Village. With over 7,000 families visiting the Village each year, the villas understandably undergo a tremendous amount of wear and tear. Give Kids The World recently embarked on a $100 million Village Campaign in order to renovate all of our villas, expand our capacity, meet operational needs and fulfill even more wishes over the coming years. Volunteer Position: Airport Greeter
Being an Angel Airport Greeter is a very special volunteer position at Give Kids The World. Angel Airport Greeters have the unique opportunity to witness a family's first moment of joy as soon as they arrive in Orlando. The Angel meets wish families at the security exit, escorts them to the baggage claim area and assists with the rental car or shuttle service process. Read More


Fanatic Fundraiser

Does competition between siblings sound familiar? We recently met Douglas and Jeanne Marie Gearity who turned a little bit of healthy competition into a whole lot of good for the Village.

Upon turning 12, Douglas Gearity couldn't wait to begin volunteering at Give Kids The World. The excitement soon sparked a desire in the Gearity family to do everything they could to contribute to the Village's magic. Read More

Murphy's Fundraising Tips
Thousands of children visit the Village every year and many go on to become budding entrepreneurs or even philanthropists themselves. I am asked all the time about the number of children who are inspired to hold Ice Cream For Breakfast socials supporting Give Kids The World and how it is possible. While I believe our current generation of young people are especially philanthropic, and research backs this up, I mainly think it starts with parents and other role models who take leadership in teaching a culture of giving to our children.

November 3, 2012: Gingerbread Run 5K at Give Kids The World Village. Join hundreds of GKTW supporters on a 3.1 mile run/walk through our whimsical Village. Don't live in Florida? Participate virtually or host a Gingerbread Run in your own neighborhood.

November 17, 2012: ICE! GKTW Charity Day at Gaylord Palms Resort Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Fla., celebrates a "Merry Madagascar" this year with hand-carved ice sculptures in a stunning, 9° Fahrenheit, indoor display. On November 17, you have a very cool way to support the Village as a portion of ticket sales benefits GKTW. Details to follow at

November – December 2012: Boston Market Coupon Books This upcoming holiday season, Boston Market is once again raising funds for GKTW through their annual coupon book campaign. During November and December, customers can receive a coupon book full of great savings on Boston Market dishes in exchange for a $1 donation. Pick up yours at participating Boston Market restaurants beginning in November. They also make great stocking stuffers.
