A Jackson Hewitt Celebration
On December 14, managers from Florida Jackson Hewitt offices visited Give Kids The World to kick off their new partnership with the Village. The day started with a tour of the Village, where managers learned of our history and mission. At the end of the tour, Jackson Hewitt managers rolled up their sleeves to assist with various work projects around the Village. While some assisted our volunteers with their assignments, others added fresh coats of paint to our lovely rocking chairs. Read more

  Angel Spotlight

Amberville volunteers Joan and Roy are helping GKTW even when they grocery shop. The couple meets with the manger of their local Publix every time they are in the store to ask for any close-out coloring books which can be donated to the Village. Their efforts have really paid off as this Manager has set up a standing order of one book for each of our villas each and every week!

Fanatic Fundraiser
When 6-year old Makena learned about Give Kids The World, she was eager to help in any way she could. As an avid fan of Disney World, Makena felt that any child going through a difficult time in life should have the opportunity to enjoy a trip to her favorite theme park.

With the help of her family, Makena started an organization called Makena's Rae of Sunshine Foundation. Over the course of a summer, Makena held several bake sales and operated a lemonade stand. When her lemonade stand made $100 in its first day, Makena was thrilled. Inspired by this success, Makena continued in her efforts and raised a total of $335! Read more

Murphy's Fundraising Tips
After the holiday gift giving is done, many of us realize we have items to spare. Thanks to many generous donors, Give Kids The World receives items needed for our daily gift-giving program, supplies for our Family Entertainment Program and items needed to help keep the Village sparkling. Donating goods and services is a great way to help the Village continue sharing the magic.

Here are 10 post-holiday left overs you might have stashed away that could benefit the Village:

  • Gift Bags
  • Character Costumes
  • AA & AAA alkaline batteries
  • Candy (no gum or chocolate)
  • Disposable Cutlery
  • Gift Cards
  • Bubble Wrap or Peanuts
  • Packaging Tape
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Glitter
