      Family Letter

Family Letter
Tuesday I was sitting in the oncologist's office again. I have forgotten how many times we have done this now, but it’s been a lot. Eli, 8, is now 23 months off of treatment for leukemia. He was playing FIFA Soccer on the iPad as we waited.

Absolutely out of the blue and without looking up at me, he said, "I'm glad I got cancer." I thought this definitely required a follow-up question. "Why do you say that?" I asked. "Because I got that really cool trip to Disneyworld and Give Kids the World — where I ate ice cream everyday."

Dara Dandrea-Giannotti
We had a wonderful time on Halloween day as an alumni family on our 1st trip back since our make a wish trip in 2009. It was so much fun getting to try things at GKTW that we missed when we were down before because we were so busy trying to get to the parks. What a wonderful day! Wished we had, had more time. Looking forward to a time when my kids are a bit older and my youngest healthy enough that we can travel back to be volunteers!
