Former Wish Child Hannah
Makes an Amazing Return

Give Kids The World alumni families return to the Village for many different reasons: to volunteer, to see their star in the Castle of Miracles, or to get the ice cream that tastes better here than anywhere else in the world. We love to ask families what they think the biggest change is since their visit. The biggest change for former wish child Hannah Donnelly is that, during this visit to the Village, she can hear. Holiday Isle Oceanfront Resort
Raises Funds in the Sun

Holiday Isle Oceanfront Resort, in St. Augustine, held their 15th annual benefit for Give Kids The World on Saturday, August 25. The poolside bash was well-attended. Even Mayor Clayton was invited to cut loose. However, he also pitched in and helped with the exciting live auction, which helped bring the total raised to over $8,000! Thanks to everyone at Holiday Isle who worked so hard to help bring future wish families to enjoy fun in the Florida sun.

We are writing to thank you so much for having us to stay at Give Kids The World. Charlie flew out to Florida on November 14, 2010 and there all his dreams came true. We were amazed at the kindness and generosity all the staff and volunteers showed Charlie and us, his parents. The setup of GKTW is just perfect for families like ours from the villas to the Gingerbread House. Read More

      Gift Giver

Volunteer Position: Gift Giver
Imagine returning to your villa after spending a wonderful day in the theme parks, only to find a fun surprise waiting for you! This is the magic that our gift-giving program provides to our families, and you can be a part of it.

This shift runs from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. every day, and we have plenty of regular shifts available. If you can make a consistent commitment to deliver gifts to all the children in the Village, and you feel that it is better to give than to receive, you are perfect for the gift-giving program. Volunteers are responsible for loading the golf cart, driving through the Village, setting up welcome displays for arriving families and delivering surprises.

Fanatic Fundraiser
Bracelets to Benefit GKTW For ten-year-old Kylee Heinrich, her mom Julie and sister Kaylynn, giving back to others is a way of life. This philanthropic family made over 1,000 beaded bracelets to sell and then donated the proceeds to Make-A-Wish® Nebraska, Cure JM and Give Kids The World Village.

Their bracelet making began when the Heinrichs heard that the Global Genes Project sent out bracelets to families fighting a rare disease. Kylee and her mom hopped on board with the project and spent last summer making over 80 bracelets to donate to the project.
